Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES, which included the work Speeding homeward; and Light breezes by William Minshall Birchall. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,180.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Other works by William Minshall Birchall have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2001 the work Tower Bridge, London was auctioned for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,969.91).
