In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'An Incoming Voyager' by William Minshall Birchall. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 828.75 (€ 944.50), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Minshall Birchall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tower Bridge, London, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,969.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'An Incoming Voyager' von William Minshall Birchall zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 828,75 (€ 944,50) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Minshall Birchall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tower Bridge, London beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.969,91) versteigert wurde.
