Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'The Ill Fated Oceana at Tilbury' by William Minshall Birchall. It changed hands for a price of GBP 573.75 (€ 653.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Minshall Birchall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tower Bridge, London, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,969.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'The Ill Fated Oceana at Tilbury' von William Minshall Birchall zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 573,75 (€ 653,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Minshall Birchall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tower Bridge, London beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.969,91) versteigert wurde.
