Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work An Old Timer: U.S.S. Jamestown by William Minshall Birchall. The price achieved of GBP 480.00 (€ 700.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Minshall Birchall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tower Bridge, London, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,969.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Old Timer: U.S.S. Jamestown von William Minshall Birchall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 480,00 (€ 700,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Minshall Birchall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tower Bridge, London beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.969,91) versteigert wurde.
