Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of William Pink by William Holman Hunt was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in March 2008. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,024.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,500.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holman Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 3,330,500.00 (€ 4,006,074.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of William Pink von William Holman Hunt wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.024,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.500,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Holman Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.330.500,00 (€ 4.006.074,97).
