Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lake George by William Hart was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2005. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,178.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Hart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Spring Day on the Hudson, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,615.21).

Die Arbeit Lake George von William Hart wurde im März 2005 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.200,00 (€ 10.178,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Hart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Spring Day on the Hudson beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 44.100,00 (€ 40.615,21) versteigert wurde.
