Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Rocky Coast At Sunset, Grand Manan by William Hart. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,204.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Hart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Spring Day on the Hudson, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,615.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocky Coast At Sunset, Grand Manan von William Hart zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.204,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von William Hart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Spring Day on the Hudson beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 44.100,00 (€ 40.615,21) versteigert wurde.
