Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by William Hart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2024. In the 19th Century American & Western Art auction, the work Sunset at Grand Manan sold for USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,012.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Hart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Spring Day on the Hudson, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,615.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Hart erzielte im Januar 2024 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century American & Western Art wurde die Arbeit Sunset at Grand Manan für USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.012,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Hart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Spring Day on the Hudson beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 44.100,00 (€ 40.615,21) versteigert wurde.
