The work Country Circus by William Hart was worth USD 22,950.00 (€ 22,231.91) to a buyer in November last year. This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Hart; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Spring Day on the Hudson sold at auction in January this year with the realized price of USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,615.21).
