Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by William Etty achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September last year. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Venus and Cupid sold for GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,706.44) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Etty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Etty erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Venus and Cupid für GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.706,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Etty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
