The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,804.29), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Etty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).

Die Arbeit Female nude, seen from behind, leaning on a rock von William Etty wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.100,00 (€ 5.804,29) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Etty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
