It achieved a price of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,956.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Admittedly, works by William Etty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).

Die Arbeit Reclining female nude von William Etty wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion TOMASSO II bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.956,56) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Etty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
