This artwork by William Etty achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in December last year. In the Sir Terence ConranThe Contents of Barton Court auction, the work Female nude, study sold for GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,734.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Etty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Etty erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sir Terence ConranThe Contents of Barton Court wurde die Arbeit Female nude, study für GBP 2.422,50 (€ 2.734,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Etty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
