Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art, which included the work Male nude by William Etty. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Etty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Male nude von William Etty zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.668,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Etty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
