Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In The Tea House by William Crosbie was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2019. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,757.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Crosbie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Universal Female, which sold at auction in May 2014 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,508.06).

Die Arbeit In The Tea House von William Crosbie wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.757,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Crosbie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Universal Female beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.508,06) versteigert wurde.
