This artwork by William Crosbie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Garelochhead sold for GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,355.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Crosbie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Universal Female, which sold at auction in May 2014 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,508.06).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Crosbie erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Garelochhead für GBP 8.820,00 (€ 10.355,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Crosbie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Universal Female beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.508,06) versteigert wurde.
