A top price for William Crosbie - as previously expected
In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Universal Female by William Crosbie. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,508.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Universal Female is the most expensive artwork by William Crosbie that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Universal Female von William Crosbie zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.508,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Universal Female das teuerste Kunstwerk von William Crosbie, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
