Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Scottish ArtThe Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Quince spray and pink petticote by William Crosbie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,691.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Crosbie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Universal Female, which sold at auction in May 2014 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,508.06).
