Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by William Brice was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 313.00 (€ 247.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Brice achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses in Succession in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,566.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Brice im September 2014 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 313,00 (€ 247,86) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Brice erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses in Succession im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.566,80).
