In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Sailboats At Sea: A Set Of Six Drawings by William Bradford. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 12,654.22), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bradford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Sun, The Arctic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,314,353.28).

Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sailboats At Sea: A Set Of Six Drawings von William Bradford zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 12.654,22) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Bradford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Sun, The Arctic im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.445.000,00 (€ 1.314.353,28).
