Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Land of the Midnight Sun 12 x 19 5/16 in. (30.5 x 49.1 cm.) by William Bradford was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 40,695.00 (€ 37,922.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bradford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Sun, The Arctic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,314,353.28).
