Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Under the awning by William Blamire Young was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,301.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Blamire Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work VIIth Australian Light Horse Victorian Mounted Rifles, 1904; B. Battery. Royal Australian Field Artillery, 1904 in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 56,962.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Under the awning von William Blamire Young kam im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.301,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Blamire Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit VIIth Australian Light Horse Victorian Mounted Rifles, 1904; B. Battery.
