Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Dream Castle by William Blamire Young was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The price achieved of AUD 4,560.00 (€ 2,726.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Blamire Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work VIIth Australian Light Horse Victorian Mounted Rifles, 1904; B. Battery. Royal Australian Field Artillery, 1904 in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 56,962.85).
