Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian The Old Pottery by William Blamire Young. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 3,360.00 (€ 2,009.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Blamire Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work VIIth Australian Light Horse Victorian Mounted Rifles, 1904; B. Battery. Royal Australian Field Artillery, 1904 in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 56,962.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian The Old Pottery von William Blamire Young zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 3.360,00 (€ 2.009,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Blamire Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit VIIth Australian Light Horse Victorian Mounted Rifles, 1904; B. Battery.
