In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included this untitled work by William Baziotes. The »bidding war« ended at USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,978.58), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Baziotes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phantasm in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,332,500.00 (€ 1,119,936.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Baziotes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 74.978,58) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Baziotes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phantasm im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.332.500,00 (€ 1.119.936,12).
