The work Westminster Abbey from the South Bank of the Thames; The Tower of London from the Thames, a pair each 28.9 x 44.5cm (11 3/8 x 17 1/2in). (2) by William Anderson was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. It achieved a price of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,267.79), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Anderson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 62,461.08).
