Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Anderson could be acquired at Bonhams in London in April last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work Ships at anchor with figures on the foreshore changed hands for GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,280.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Anderson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 62,461.08).
