Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Thames scene with the Tower of London and St Paul's Cathedral in the distance by William Anderson. The price achieved of GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,601.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Anderson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 62,461.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thames scene with the Tower of London and St Paul's Cathedral in the distance von William Anderson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.601,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Anderson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 62.461,08).
