Admittedly, works by William Anderson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 62,461.08).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.426,80) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Anderson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 62.461,08).
