Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Off the coast of Aldeburgh, Suffolk; Off Bawdsey, Suffolk, a pair the first 17.8 x 24.8cm (7 x 9 3/4in); the second 17.2 x 24.4cm (6 3/4 x 9 5/8in). (2) by William Anderson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,633.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Anderson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 62,461.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Off the coast of Aldeburgh, Suffolk; Off Bawdsey, Suffolk, a pair the first 17.8 x 24.8cm (7 x 9 3/4in); the second 17.2 x 24.4cm (6 3/4 x 9 5/8in). (2) von William Anderson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.633,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Anderson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 62.461,08).
