Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Of Royal and Noble Descent, which included the work Dutch Barges Running Inshore In A Breeze, An English Man-O'-War Beyond by William Anderson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,711.72), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Anderson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 62,461.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Of Royal and Noble Descent durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch Barges Running Inshore In A Breeze, An English Man-O'-War Beyond von William Anderson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.711,72) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Anderson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Foreshore At Gosport, Watching A New Arrival Coming In im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 62.461,08).
