This artwork by William Allan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2015. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Fresh Steelhead - Gualla sold for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,344.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Allan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dick Whittington And His Cat in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,422.19).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Allan erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Fresh Steelhead - Gualla für USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.344,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Allan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dick Whittington And His Cat im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.422,19).
