The auction ended at the price of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,677.14), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Allan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dick Whittington And His Cat, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,422.19).
