Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work The Stolen Child Recovered by William Allan for GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,374.38). This price was achieved in the auction THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Allan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dick Whittington And His Cat in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,422.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Stolen Child Recovered von William Allan für GBP 5.736,00 (€ 8.374,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Allan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dick Whittington And His Cat im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.422,19).
