A top price for William Alexander - as previously expected
The work Walls enclosing a city or town called Pou-een-gin, November 3rd 1793 by William Alexander was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,081.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Walls enclosing a city or town called Pou-een-gin, November 3rd 1793 is the most expensive artwork by William Alexander that we have observed at auctions so far.
