Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2020 Christies in London held the auction 300 Years Of British Drawings, which included the work Three Chinese studies: a Rowing barge; Three men working a drain sluice; and Fishing from a junk by William Alexander. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,702.53) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Alexander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Walls enclosing a city or town called Pou-een-gin, November 3rd 1793, which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,081.47).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion 300 Years Of British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Chinese studies: a Rowing barge; Three men working a drain sluice; and Fishing from a junk von William Alexander zur Versteigerung kam.
