Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Weldon Collection, which included the work Peaches, A Plum, And Grapes On A Ledge by Willem van Aelst. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,592.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van Aelst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still life with grapes in a basket, peaches on a silver dish, medlars, two butterflies, a fly and a snail, all on a red velvet cloth over a partially draped ledge in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,230,000.00 (€ 1,013,597.03).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still life with grapes in a basket, peaches on a silver dish, medlars, two butterflies, a fly and a snail, all on a red velvet cloth over a partially draped ledge im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.230.000,00 (€ 1.013.597,03).
