This artwork by Willem van Aelst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2011. In the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work A Still Life With Tulips And Other Flowers In A Vase On A Marble Ledge, With A Lizard And A Butterfly sold for GBP 91,250.00 (€ 109,284.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem van Aelst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with grapes in a basket, peaches on a silver dish, medlars, two butterflies, a fly and a snail, all on a red velvet cloth over a partially draped ledge in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,230,000.00 (€ 1,013,597.03).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem van Aelst erzielte im Dezember 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale wurde die Arbeit A Still Life With Tulips And Other Flowers In A Vase On A Marble Ledge, With A Lizard And A Butterfly für GBP 91.250,00 (€ 109.284,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem van Aelst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still life with grapes in a basket, peaches on a silver dish, medlars, two butterflies, a fly and a snail, all on a red velvet cloth over a partially draped ledge im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.230.000,00 (€ 1.013.597,03).
