Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Entering the harbour, Volendam by Willem Alexander Knip was sold in the Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,125.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem Alexander Knip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam in September 2012 with an auction result of EUR 11,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Entering the harbour, Volendam von Willem Alexander Knip wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.125,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Alexander Knip auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.250,00.
