In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work Ponte Vecchio seen from the water, Florence by Willem Alexander Knip. The result of EUR 5,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Alexander Knip - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam, which sold at auction in September 2012 for EUR 11,250.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ponte Vecchio seen from the water, Florence von Willem Alexander Knip zur Versteigerung kam.
