Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reading the news by Wilhelm Gdanietz was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2003. The price achieved of EUR 836.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 700.00 – 900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Gdanietz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Great Achievement: A Volendam Fisherman Completing A Ship Model, which sold at auction in September 2004 for EUR 2,629.00.
