Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of A Volendam Fisherman; And A Portrait of A Volendam Girl by Wilhelm Gdanietz was sold in the Pictures Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 900.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Gdanietz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Great Achievement: A Volendam Fisherman Completing A Ship Model, which sold at auction in September 2004 for EUR 2,629.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of A Volendam Fisherman; And A Portrait of A Volendam Girl von Wilhelm Gdanietz wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 900,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Gdanietz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Great Achievement: A Volendam Fisherman Completing A Ship Model beobachtet, die im September 2004 für EUR 2.629,00 versteigert wurde.
