In December 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction European Noble and Private Collections, which included the work A coastal landscape with figures resting outside a city gate by Wigerus Vitringa. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,125.00 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wigerus Vitringa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping in choppy waters before a crowded beach, a town beyond in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 33,850.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion European Noble and Private Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit A coastal landscape with figures resting outside a city gate von Wigerus Vitringa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.125,00 und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wigerus Vitringa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping in choppy waters before a crowded beach, a town beyond im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 33.850,00.
