Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Pine 1 / Landscape 5 by Wesley Tongson. It changed hands for a price of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 9,160.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wesley Tongson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Green Mountains, which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,627.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pine 1 / Landscape 5 von Wesley Tongson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 9.160,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wesley Tongson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Green Mountains beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.627,85) versteigert wurde.
