Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Court of the Meiji Temple, Tokyo, Japan by Werner Bischof was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,028.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Werner Bischof - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White Paper-Roll, Negative Et White Paper-Roll, Positive , 1938, which sold at auction in November 2015 for EUR 8,750.00.
