Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Wei Dong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,005.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wei Dong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wanna Fly in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Wei Dong kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 35.000,00 (€ 4.005,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wei Dong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wanna Fly im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 37.188,17).
