Born in 1968 in Inner Mongolia,Wei Dong was graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Beijing Normal University in 1991.His earliest works were made public in 1991 at the Huadu Hotel Gallery in Beijing.Since then,he has showed his talent in important Chinese art institutions such as the National Art Museum of China,the Contemporary Art Museum,as well as other international exhibitions in Sweden,Spain,Britain and so on,gaining him attention from the art community at home and overseas.After 1997,Wei Dong has participated in exhibitions organized by Arvada Art Center in Colorado,USA,Rudolph’s Art Museum in Prague,and Espace Cardin Art Center in Paris.He has also

The work Language Of The War No.1 & No.2(Two Pieces)(Painted In 1996) by Wei Dong was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2017. It achieved a price of HKD 129,800.00 (€ 14,286.02), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wei Dong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wanna Fly, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).

Die Arbeit Language Of The War No.1 & No.2(Two Pieces)(Painted In 1996) von Wei Dong kam im Oktober 2017 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 129.800,00 (€ 14.286,02) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Für andere Arbeiten von Wei Dong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wanna Fly beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 37.188,17) versteigert wurde.
