Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Girl With Sheep by Wei Dong. It changed hands for a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,222.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wei Dong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wanna Fly, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl With Sheep von Wei Dong zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.222,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wei Dong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wanna Fly beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 37.188,17) versteigert wurde.
