Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ancient Stage Modern Players by Wei Dong was sold in the Contemporary Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. It changed hands for a price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 18,354.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wei Dong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wanna Fly, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ancient Stage Modern Players von Wei Dong wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 18.354,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wei Dong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wanna Fly beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 37.188,17) versteigert wurde.
