This artwork by Wang Yan Cheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in February last year. In the Modern Art Online auction, the work Sans titre sold for HKD 478,800.00 (€ 54,560.33) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Yan Cheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 5,440,000.00 (€ 515,772.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Yan Cheng erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art Online wurde die Arbeit Sans titre für HKD 478.800,00 (€ 54.560,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Yan Cheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.440.000,00 (€ 515.772,45).
